So, that's what they mean by a 'New York minute.' What started out as a plan to stay a few days, ended up being a full ten days in NYC.
I think a few bullet points are enough to sum up my visit:
- daily macchiato at Stumptown coffee roasters (the best EVER)
- literally went to every zara in manhattan
- discovered Williamsburg and its hipster reincarnation
- i am officially, unofficially a pro at finding free wifi spots
- running in and out of ktown a minimum four times a day
- the blisters on my feet show evidence of how much I walked
But the best part of this trip was being able to stay with my friends at their own pad. It's no MTV cribs material, but they do have a sick ass view of the Empire state building from the balcony. (It is such a joy to wake up and fall asleep to that view everyday.) I feel so lucky to have a group of genuine friends I can discover the city with, and I feel as if our journey towards being a wanna-be 'Sex and the City' crew has just begun.
On the day I took these pictures, I was with Sarah, who is a friend I have not seen in person in three years! She studies in new york now, and it's crazy to think we met in the most suburban part of the country. Through the years, I was so happy to see that she has not changed a bit, except that now she is prettier and even more fashionable. We spent a whole day, starting with brunch at Buvette, shopping in Soho (with our eyes), and catching up on everything. It's funny because we both feel as if living in a big city kind of changes the way you think, and going back to the suburbs is something we never want to do.
As of now, I am back at my parents' house. I am resting my feet, and blogging to my heart's desire. Plus, I really do not want to go outside and deal with this humidity.
Hope you are all doing well, and as always, thank you so much for stopping by. <3
