Hey loves!

Spring is officially here in Canada, and I cannot tell you how much it makes me smile on the inside to be able to wear skirt without tights again. I think I must have grown during the winter, because I really do not remember this circle skirt being THIS short haha... oh well, my legs need some vitamin D anyways. And before I get into my personal thoughts, I just want to give my new top from H&M a huge HOLLA because I am in love with it. It's like a cool watercolor floral print, with bows on the back. How could I leave this baby behind?

TIME FOR NEAR-END OF SEMESTER REFLECTIONS <3

It is this time of the year that I reflect the most on myself, more so than during December. Probably because it is nearing the end of the school semester, I like to think about how I did in school, the people I met, etc. As a student, I feel like my year starts in the fall with the new semester and ends with the reward of a relaxing summer. This school year was definitely the craziest, and maybe even the best so far. College pushed me to work harder and learn to function on less sleep. My job taught me to mange time and I experienced how fun it is to make your own money (and spend it of course, haha). Living away from my parents made me grow so much mentally on so many levels, and living with my older sister made our relationship into the ultimate friendship.

This year flew by, but at the same time, high school feels like it was forever ago. When I see pictures of my high school friends on Facebook, it is so crazy to see where everyone is moving on to college across the country, and how friendships fade or grow with time. Why am I getting so deep on Facebook? haha, I don't really know either... it's just cool to see the beginnings of my friends' "adult lives" and it's exciting to see where everyone will end up! I'm just so thankful for all the new friends I met this year, the old one I got to reconnect with, and the experiences I had that honestly would not have been possible if I were still living with my parents.

For all of us on the same exam period boat, GOOD LUCK!!! Let's kick procrastination in the a** and ace it. It's almost summer<3

Thank you so much for reading as always. Wishing you the best week!

Happy Easter everyone!!!

I am currently back at my parents' house for the weekend, and enjoying the sunshine and warmth to the max. As the semester is coming to a really quick end, I have multiple papers to work on. It's so bad because i'm definitely procrastinating more now that the weather is nice, and we all feel a little lazier as summer break approaches, right? ONE MONTH LEFT!

I like to blame a lot of things on the warming weather, and one of them is my increased shopping. Haha, but c'mon, I'm coming out of my "all black errthang" winter hibernation. This light pink moto jacket is a breath of fresh, spring air to me. I usually don't buy faux leather from Forever 21, but this jacket material is impressively high in quality and doesn't have that cheap/shiny leather look. And can we please take a moment to acknowledge my new phone case? Yes, the chain does get kind of annoying, but I am obsessed with it! A mini chanel boy bag... can't afford the real thing, so this will do for now ;)

Hope you all had a beautiful Easter Sunday, and thank you so much for reading as always!

All tied up - Spoiler Magazine Part II

Leather jacket, Express____Top, Korea____Skirt, American Apparel____Plaid shirt, Zara____Tights, Aldo____Socks, J. Crew____Hat, American Apparel____Shoes, Target

Here is the second outfit from Spoiler Magazine's fashion board post. I am loving the grunge trend, inspired by British street style and rock bands. Tying a plaid shirt around your waist is the perfect, and easiest way to add a little color and grunge to any outfit. Plus, you can layer it on when it gets chilly.

Yet another week has flown by! It's crazy to think there are only a few weeks left in the semester. Now it's down to crunch time... I am writing this post instead of my analytical essay for English, because I am having a major writer's block right now. (Please, god or goddess of creating meaning out of ambiguous poems, help!)

Anyways, I have a three-day weekend to work on it so wish me luck!

Here is my outfit that I wore to the Topshop opening last week. (See the post here!) A kind of random melange of patterns and trends that come together into a street-style inspired look.

Hope you all had a nice week!

AHH I AM FINALLY 18 YEARS OLD!!!

Eighteen is only a year difference from seventeen, but it sounds so much older and mature for some reason. I guess it's with good reason because I can now drink, get a tattoo, vote, buy a car, own property all under my own name, and be seen as an "adult" by the government. Doesn't mean I'm going to be doing any of those things anytime soon (well maybe except the drinking part) but now that I'm eighteen, I COULD IF I WANNA.

Growing up, becoming 18 years old sounded like a far-off fantasy of freedom and doing things my own way. Now that the day is here, I realize that it's just another birthday and I feel the same as I did as a seventeen year old. But I do believe that I am growing more and more independent, finding who I truly am and what I really love about life each day. Already this year, I went through a lot of "firsts" that is a part of becoming an adult. I moved out of my parents' house, got into college, got my first job, all the while trying to cook for myself (aka cereal and frozen fruit) and realizing that spending $5 a day at Starbucks seriously adds up fast. It's an exciting transition time in my life, but I am going to miss how people tend to forgive you easier for mistakes and stuff because "awww, she is ONLY seventeen years old!"

I don't know about you, or if it's just me trying to be "deep" and over-analyze my life, but birthdays really make me reflect back on the past. I know, I know, I am still young and what do I really have to reflect on? But seriously, I think about all of the different schools and places I went to, and friends I've met, and the "phases" I've gone through up until today. I'm not going to get into an overly long rant about my personal life on my very public blog here, but basically, my life has gone through a couple of 180 degree changes. Just when you think you know how life will plan out, plans radically change. It really sucks when that happens because you feel out of control and confused. I've learned to just work hard everyday, appreciate the weeks, and cherish the months that add up to a year in no time. No matter what happens, whether it be good or bad, everything becomes a distant memory as time goes by and I think it is those memories that makes everybody's life their own unique story. I know that my life is not going to go perfectly according to plan, but I am certain that it will somehow pan out in the most twisted, random, but perfect way.

Cheers to eighteen years of living! Now, I must stuff myself with sushi and cake.

xo,

Dahye

Bonjour Automne

Trench coat, Forever21____Denim top/skirt/socks/shoes/hair bow, American Apparel____Bag, Korea

My favorite season is here: fall. As you can see, I am already rocking my trench coat and knee highs. It's that time of year to wrap up in circle scarves, sip on pumpkin spice lattes, and enjoy the beauty changing leaf colors. The weather has been erratic; one day it's sunny with a high of 23 C, the next is rainy with a high of 10 C. This weather is pretty much the perfect condition to get sick, so I gotta remind myself to stock up on oranges and honey tea!

RAWR (200th post!)

Leopard print cardigan
Leopard Sweater, Korea____Crop top, Korea____Skirt, American Apparel____Chelsea boots, Topshop____Purse, Korea____Hair bow, made myself

Hey guys!

Here's an outfit that I am absolutely in love with and have repeated about three times...oops. It mixes my girly side with my spontaneous "I-love-leopard-print-anything" tendency. I got the bold sweater three years ago from Korea, and I don't know what I would do without it. It's literally the perfect thing to throw on to add a little punch to any look!

I survived my first week of college! I actually love my flexible schedule, as opposed to the same six course daily routine of high school. So far, my professors and peers are great. I feel really lucky to be in such a positive environment.

I am now going to a nice weekend brunch with my sister! We agreed to find a new place to eat everything weekend, to avoid getting caught up in a bland routine. Follow me on Instagram @heydahye for food pics. ;)

Happy Saturday!

xo, Dahye
