Red J. Crew Pencil Skirt

Skirt, J. Crew____Top, Topshop____Sandals, Gap____Sunglasses, Kenneth Cole

Here is what I wore on a night out in Barcelona. A bold cherry red pencil skirt, that looks great dressed down with an easy crop top. I love the eyelet pattern on this skirt, so that I don't look like I'm trying to pull off a first-lady look. We ate at 7 Portes in Barcelona, a restaurant famous for their paellas. My favorite was the squid ink paella, which I know sounds funny, but it has a really rich flavor that any seafood lover would enjoy. After dinner, my sister and I went to the W Hotel, which is right on the Mediterranean coast. The hotel is stunning at night, as all of the lights sparkle against the sea. Taking in this dream-like view all the whilst having a major sister-to-sister talk is a moment I won't ever forget and am so thankful for.

So apparently it was supposed to be the first day of spring last week... well, we were lucky enough to receive another 4 inches of snow in Montreal. Thank you so much for that thoughtful welcome gift, Mother Nature.

SAID NO ONE. EVER.

Look at me sitting on this poor statue of a cow, its body buried midway in the snow. I think that gives you a little insight as to how much snow is still left to be melted. Le sigh... I don't think I'm ever going to get used to a six month long winter.

On a happier note, this shoot was super fun because I finally met up with Camille again! The last time we saw each other was last... I think November? We mutually agreed that the cause for this absence was blogger hibernation during the winter. I mean, I don't think it's crucial to post an outfit wearing a parka and uggs. No one would appreciate that. We caught up, drinking persian tea at my new favorite cafe, called Cafe Aunja. A short vlog video will be uploaded soon on my Youtube channel. :)

For my Canadian readers, I have more good news! The clothing brand, Sanctuary, recently launched in Canada. For now, the collection is available in local boutiques. I got to check out their new collection at the launch event, and I fell in love with the neutral color palette and easy to wear styles. I especially loved their matching crop top + skirt combinations, as it can be worn from day to night. Follow them on instagram @sanctuarycanada

In Montreal, Sanctuary Clothing will be available at the following stores:
Olam, Mimi & Coco, Billie, and Delano Designs

Hope you guys are having a great week, and enjoying REAL spring weather!

Obviously these photos were not taken in Montreal, but rather while I was in Atlanta during winter break. I know, I know... I'm such a bad blogger. Haha, but I knew I needed some prepared posts because the weather in Montreal right now is not what you would call great weather for a photoshoot. Yeah, I don't think anyone would be interested in an outfit post featuring a giant parka and Ugg boots, which is what I've been wearing pretty much everyday. Until it ceases to be -20 degrees, outfit posts may be in sparse supply.

But hey, I did start a Youtube channel, so I can film indoors and not have to nag anyone to take pictures for me. ;)

Happy February!

When visiting Paris, it is a blogger-must to take outfit pictures featuring the iconic Eiffel Tower. Many of my favorite bloggers, like Gary Pepper, have amazing pictures next to the tower, so I've always wanted to have a little photo shoot of my own in a similar fashion. I am so happy with how the pictures turned out. Although it was a gloomy day, with scattered showers, the blurred outline of the Eiffel tower in the background looks beautiful. And I think it worked out because my outfit itself is a plethora of gray and black.

These pictures were taken on New Year's Eve of 2013. The last day of the year was spent eating crepes from the Christmas market on Champs-Elysees, lunching at Cafe de Flore (a cafe maybe as iconic as the Eiffel tower), exploring the streets of St. Germain de Pres, eye-shopping on Rue Cambon, attending mass at Sacre Coeur, and finally counting down to welcome the new year by the flashing lights on the Eiffel tower. Pretty much the perfect day, if you ask me.

This was my second time visiting Paris. The last time I went there was before middle school, and now that I'm in college, the experience in the city was like new. I could enjoy a glass of wine with my foie gras and I appreciated the history behind the monuments and museums so much more. I wonder when I will visit this beautiful city again, what I will doing at that time, who I will be with, and where I will go. Although I like to think that I know how life will plan out, the truth is that I don't. There are so many things in life that can happen that are out of my control. Kind of scary, but maybe that mystery is why we wake up every morning and work hard each day in order to secure a better tomorrow. Well, before I get in a philosophical nonsense rant mode, here are my 2014 new year's resolutions. Or, things that I can put under my control to become better and happier:

- Have a monthly cash limit, and minimize debit card spendings
- Pray regularly
- Approach people I want to talk to. (People are all just people at the end of the day, no need to be too intimidated.)
- Be mindful, not obsessive, over what others think of me
- Cut out the cookies from the school cafeteria (they are 600 calories each... yikes!)
- Replace one meal with a salad
- Stick to my list of blog goals

I make resolutions and goals every year, and even though I don't fulfill all of them, I think the whole concept of at least putting an effort to bettering yourself each year is important. Something I always tell myself when I feel lazy is, "If you don't do it for yourself, who will?" It's sort of a debby-downer quote in a way, but it's true.

Be your own best friend and hero!

A little lace and tartan today

Leather sleeve sweater from Persunmall.com
I'm wearing two trends that I am absolutely loving: the tartan scarf and a peek of lace!
Zara Studded sleeve jacket

Casio Mini Digital watch

It happens every year.

As I laze around during winter break, catching up on Modern Family, editing blog posts in a leisurely manner, and forgetting the sound of a morning alarm, BAM... winter break is over. I'm making my schedule for the second semester soon and heading across the border back to Montreal in a few days. This winter break was pretty amazing because I got to travel across Europe, hit up the after-holidays sales with my mom, and edit enough videos to last my channel a month. I'm going to miss my parents, my mom's cooking (however, it's time to leave because I gained three pounds from eating so much good food!), and the amazing weather in Atlanta. I'm seriously going to get a harsh reality check with all of the snow in Canada. But, I'm looking forward to new classes and teachers, reuniting with the regular lunch crew, and just getting back into the busy-as-a-bee lifestyle.

To all other students, hope you had a relaxing break and the best of luck to the new semester.
