night to remember: PROM!

Hair I did for Amara! It looks wet because I sprayed about half a bottle of hairspray on her. :P
Prom wrist corsages!

This past Saturday was a day that I will remember and cherish forever. I flew from the Southeast to the Midwest to attend prom at my old school. It was so nice to see my best friends that I missed so much, and to get all doll'd up for this special event! As you can see, there is still plenty of snow in the Midwest in the middle of April. But some snow can't stop us! We danced nonstop, almost losing my voice, and definitely losing a bit of hearing from the loud music. I am so lucky to have such amazing people in my life.

I want to thank dressestylist.com again for sending me this beautiful dress. It was absolutely perfect for the occasion. I'm also wearing fun lace-up heels from the Target X Prabal Gurung collection that I bought for a steal the day before prom! All of the jewelry is my mom's.

For my hair and makeup, I wanted to keep it in accordance with the silver theme of my dress. I did a slight smokey eye, using an amazing silver cream shadow to keep the whole look in place for the whole night. For my hair, I did big curls with just enough volume. But it was not a fussy hairdo, and I was definitely able to dance away without worrying about ruining my hair.

So, I'm pretty exhausted from the partying and plane rides. I definitely had a jam-packed spring break full of memories. I guess I'm ready to go back to school and hit the books again. Only six weeks left until summer vacation!!! LET'S GO.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY LOVES!

Hope you all have a lovely day with friends, family, or that special someone. I received this beautiful flower arrangement in the mail from a friend, and I had so much fun taking pictures with them for this post! (if you are reading, thank you so much, Joy and Amara.) I bought this dress from Gap about 2 years ago, and this is my first time ever wearing it! It was on such an amazing sale, that I had to buy it. Finally, it has the chance to breathe some air from my cramped closet!

I actually gave up chocolate for lent, so I have to resist the urge. Man, school today was the ultimate struggle. :P

Tomorrow, I will be going on a church retreat for the weekend. I always have a great time at retreats, and I hope to become a more positive person when I come back!

In the mean time, enjoy all the heart-shaped desserts and chocolate in the world and spread the love!

Valentine's Day Hair + Makeup

Valentine's day hair and makeup by Dahye

Hey everyone!

Since Valentine's Day is coming up soon, I thought it would be fun to do a hair/makeup post. This day is all about flowers, chocolate, and love. So bring out that girly side, and enjoy this post!

1. Start with clean, brushed hair and spray heat protectant. Here I am using CHI 44 Iron Guard. I use about 3 squirts on each side.

2. Secure your hair with a large clip, and take 2 inch sections of your hair to curl. To make your hair have a more wavy look, make the sections big!

3. Curl and hold for about 10 seconds.

4. Release the clamp, and hold the curl in your palm for a few seconds. This makes the curls a little bouncier.

5. Repeat until you are done. Tip: make the curl around your face tighter, so that it will make a nice frame!

6. Here is my hair after curling.

7. Use a wide-tooth comb, and brush through the curls gently.

Brushing through the curls creates a more natural and effortless look.

8. Pull back two strands of hair from the front, and secure it with a girly bow!

Sweep some light pink blush on the apples of your cheeks. This blush is from the Face Shop, in Korea. The heart shapes are so very festive!

Add some glitter liner or white eyeliner to the teardrop area of your eyes. This instantly makes your eyes pop!

Of course, don't forget your lips! I'm wearing my favorite lipstick, "91 Seduisante" by Chanel.

And voila, you are ready for Valentine's Day!

xo, Dahye
