Long knit sweater, Abercrombie & Fitch____Leather jacket, Korea____Skirt, Lola____circle scarf, Korea____over the Knee high socks, TJ Maxx

Hey everyone!

I recently purchased this long cream sweater from Abercrombie, and it is just the perfect piece for chilly days. I've been wearing it with leggings, jeans, and skirts, like here. I like how the knit is not too thick, so I'll be able to transition it into the spring. It still smells like the store, it's crazy how much cologne they spray in Abercrombie!

Oh, and I just found out that Target will be launching their collaboration with Prabal Gurung on February 10! So excited... check out the lookbook here.  I have my eyes on the skinny ankle strap heels.

I also created the new and improved banner for this blog, where I made the "Hey Dahye" logo blend into the shape of a clothing hanger. Whatcha think??

Happy Friday!

sparkly collar

Sequin collar top, Korea____Skirt, Korea____Jacket, H&M____Bag, Thrifted

This top is one of my favorite items in my closet. It has a sequin collar, an open back, a peplum silhouette, and it's in my favorite beige color. One of those "it's made for me, I must own it" items. But it's weird because I've only worn it maybe twice since I bought it last summer in Korea. I really should wear it more often, don't you think?

My friend and I agreed to become work-out buddies, and we hit the gym five times last week. So proud of myself! Luckily, I'm not too sore and I hope to stay on track with my diet and everything.

How are your New Year's resolutions going?

Happy MLK Jr. Day!!!

DIY Shredded Sweater

Hey everyone!

Here is a fun DIY post on how to make a shredded sweater. I've seen a lot of purposely destroyed sweaters on pinterest, and thought it looks super cute to add a little grunge to an outfit. I don't think I would pay money for a ripped up sweater that I can make myself! It's so easy, I almost feel like I don't even have to make a DIY post about it. Basically, you're making rips...pretty self-explanatory, right? Well, here it is anyways!

Step 1: Find a sweater to work with. I got mine from Forever21 last year, and wore it maybe twice. I love the bright color, but the fit is too boxy and boring. I suggest using a sweater that you wouldn't mind destroying on your first try! I'm sure you could easily find one from a thrift store for less than $5.

Step 2: Use a pair of scissors, and cut how wide you want your rip to be.

Step 3: Pull and tug on the loose ends of the strings to widen the rip. Keep pulling until you reach where you want the rip to stop.

Repeat the steps again anywhere you want!

I also cut the neckline and bottom of the sweater to give it a looser fit.

Voila! Your very own DIY shredded/destroyed/grunge-look sweater. Great for comfy days with leggings! Hope you guys liked this idea, and try it for yourself.

Oh, and be prepared to vacuum after this little project... lol, look at my carpet :P

Top, Forever21____Skirt, Korea____Scarf and hat, H&M____Knee high socks, Urban outfitters____Bag, Thrifted

School was pretty uneventful this week. It's been rainy the past few days, but the temperature rose up from 40 degrees to 70 degrees all of the sudden. Even with this warm weather, so many people are getting sick. Hope I don't catch it!

In other news, I decided to part my hair in the middle from now on. I'm also going to dye my hair back to my natural black color, and I want to grow it out really long. Kind of like an asian ghost... but a cute one?

Have a nice weekend :)

tulle times two

Tulle skirt, J. Crew kids____Jean jacket, American Eagle____tank top, Gap____Flip flops, Abercrombie&Fitch____Bag, Burberry____Hat, J. Crew____Bracelet, handmade by a friend

These pictures were taken in Florida during winter break.... two weeks ago. I feel like a bad blogger for posting these so late. :/ But oh well, life goes on! Here I'm wearing the same tulle skirt from my last post. Clearly, I am obsessed with it. Another example of the "laid-back ballerina" look. It's all about keeping the focus on one item, in which this outfit focuses on the skirt. I also really like this baseball cap that I found in the men's section of J. Crew. I really do scour the entire store when I'm in there. No section is off-limits to me!

And finally, I found a white jean jacket! I know I'm going to wear this jacket until the elbows need to be darned because my blue jeans jacket has no time to rest, especially in the summer. Also, I want to mention the brown bead bracelet. I should have taken a better picture of it, because it has a cool hand bead on it. My friend, Tamara, made it for me. Handmade gifts are seriously so thoughtful and makes it really special. So, thank you Tam-Tam. :)

Second semester of school starts tomorrow. Gone are the days of sleeping in until noon and watching haul videos on Youtube until I get tired of them. Sometimes I get so bored during break that I learn to appreciate being busy during school. So here goes the second half of the school year, then summer vacation!

Let the countdown begin.

beanie + tulle

Sweater, my mom's____Tulle skirt, J. Crew kids section____Tights, Express____Scarf, H&M____Beanie, Forever21____Shoes, Target____Bag, Vintage

I'm head-over-heels about this tulle skirt. I found it in the crew cuts section of J. Crew and it actually fits perfectly. My recent love for ballerinas fueled my want for this skirt. I like to dress it down with heavy knits like I did in this outfit. I think I'm going to style it with studded tops to achieve a "punk ballerina" look.

For now, I've been so lazy. Sleeping in until noon, and creeping on my favorite blogs for hours. I watched Les Miserables last night, and it was seriously AMAZING. Even if you are not a fan of musicals, I would definitely recommend anybody to watch this movie! It is so well-made and all of the actors did a phenomenal job. I started to tear up in the end, but I won't spoil why... Go watch it!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!

2012 was a great and exciting year. New friends, new home, new experiences. Every year brings something fresh and unexpected. 2012 taught me that life is unpredictable, and sometimes you just have to roll with the waves. No pun intended with the beach pic^^

This winter break was seriously the best so far. Four of my best friends came down to visit me from their snowy state. I gave them a tour of where I live now, and then we drove down to Florida. We had an amazing time in the warm weather, and it was so nice to see them again. You really learn to appreciate good friends after being apart from them for a while. I can't even begin to say how hyper and weird we are when we're all in one room together. Speaking of being in one room, five over-packed girls in one hotel room calls for chaos. It was actually kind of funny how messy it was! Like something out of a "Hoarders" episode. We drove back from Florida to my house in time for a couple of New Year's Eve parties. It was the perfect way to ring in the new year; with old friends in a new city.

My New Year's Resolutions?
- Eat more vegetables.
- Tone up my abs. (I am determined to do this!)
- Reach my blogging goals.

I hope everyone had a fabulous New Year's, and thank you so, so, SO much for reading. Cheers to you all, and let's see what 2013 has in store for us!

p.s. What are your New Year's resolutions?
