TIE DYE OR DIE

Matching head to toe!

This fun outfit incorporates two major trends this summer: the crop top and head to toe matching prints. I used to be totally against matching head to toe, but I'm definitely warming up to the idea. The skirt and vest ensemble has been shoved in the back of my closet for a year because the bright blue tie-dye was a little intimidating to me. For some reason, I was inspired to totally rock the bold print. (Random fashion high I guess.) The crop top was a savior today because the temperature reached to almost 100 degrees F. Not only does showing a little stomach keep you from melting under the sun, but I think it is a trendy way to show off a little skin! But I really need to work on tanning my stomach, because it is awkwardly paler than my arms and legs... 

I also want to let you guys know in advance that I won't be blogging for a little over a week because I am flying across the world to... you'll know soon enough! (SO EXCITED)

Hey guys!

This summer is already off to a busy start. The day after I got out of school, I hopped on a flight to Montreal to visit my sister for the week. Some people dread going to the airport and riding the plane, but I personally love it. I even enjoy the whole process of waiting in line for the security checkpoint, taking your liquids out, taking your shoes off, showing your boarding pass to someone every five feet, getting my Starbucks (hello caffeine), choosing a magazine for the flight (ELLE always has great articles), etc, etc... I don't know why but I think it is kind of fun! Every time I travel, I love observing the people around me (not in a creepy stalker way lol) and it amazes me how all sorts of people are in one airport, waiting to go to far places ranging from Des Moines to Cape Town! And then it makes me think, how lucky we are to be living in a time where we can travel across the world in a few hours. 

As always, my trip to Montreal flew by. It was awesome to be with my sister again and the weather was great for eye-shopping and finding the best cappuccino in town. We also watched Iron Man 3, which was very good but I went off on a short feminist tangent after it. I'll save that for another post... aka I don't want to scare anybody off. Besides that, I discovered that my whole wardrobe needs a 90's revival, starting with denim overalls and a leather fanny pack. The sad thing is, I'm not even joking. So if you know where I could find those two items, help a girl out!

Hello hello people!

Here is a very casual weekend outfit featuring two "borrowed from my fictional boyfriend" items: loose boyfriend jeans and an oversized blazer. I actually got the jeans from the men's section at Gap, and cuffed the ankles and added some rips. The blazer was recently purchased from Zara. They are having a massive winter sale, so go check them out! I love the pleather detail on the pocket flaps of this one. And of course, I have to wear lace with any outfit to add a feminine touch. 

So life has been pretty uneventful, but January still flew by! My mom left for Korea today, and won't be back for a month... just me and my daddy-o again!
